Jukebox is a Hive of Activity for the Pear Tree, Stamford
Having never hired a jukebox before, landlord Louis Mill of the Pear Tree in Stamford did not expect much from the pub’s new VenueHub model. In fact, Mill was simply looking to expand the pub’s music selection beyond a few over-played CDs, which staff and customers alike had become tired of listening to.
Since installing the digital model, though, he has had his eyes opened to the jukebox’s full potential, and is amazed at the effect it has had on the ambiance throughout the venue.
“It’s so much more than just a jukebox,” proclaims Mill, commenting, “It looks like a big iPad!”
Mill mentions that the VenueHub’s sleek design accentuates the Pear Tree’s mix of modern and traditional design elements perfectly. Hire Jukebox’s advice on positioning the digital model has also enabled the VenueHub to quickly become a central feature in the pub, creating a sense of community as pub-goers crowd around it.
“It’s fantastic because when one person decides to play a few songs, the others follow,” affirms Mill. “It creates a great atmosphere and as everyone stays to hear their selections, they are more likely to visit for longer.”
Mill is also surprised at how well the jukebox complements the pub’s other entertainment services, particularly live music events and sports coverage on the venue’s 3D smart TVs. The Pear Tree landlord has taken full advantage of the digital jukebox’s advertising options and ‘What’s on’ calendar features to generate additional buzz for all of its events.
In particular, the VenueHub’s automatically updated live news and sports feeds have impressed Mill, who reports how keenly his regulars have taken to this new service. The timing for installing the new machine happens to have been perfect in this respect, as Mill explains, “With the transfer season beginning we get the latest news immediately.”
