Holiday Inn’s decision to trial a digital jukebox in one of its Callaghan’s bar venues in Heathrow, London, has proven to be a great success, with the possibility that jukeboxes could be installed across the entire chain in future.

The management team at the test venue, one of Holiday Inn’s on-site traditional Irish themed pubs, is delighted to note that the jukebox has encouraged hotel guests and local pub-goers alike to extend their visits to the bar.

Visitors have been impressed by the jukebox’s ability to cater to all musical tastes through an collection of tracks and genres covering everything from the pop hits of the 50’s to regular automatic updates of today’s modern classics. Despite such an extensive back catalogue, bar staff have reported the machine is incredibly easy to use thanks to the choice to browse by artist, song title or even date; showing the entire top 40 chart from the week selected.

As a special touch, Hire Jukebox have even programmed the machine to include an Irish section equipped with over 700 popular Irish songs, creating a lively, welcoming feel in the spacious venue and embodying the bar’s Irish theme. In fact as creating the right ambiance was so important for the Heathrow venue, the machine has been set to disable certain genres to avoid inappropriate tracks. There’s also the option to reject any other unwanted selections via a control panel behind the bar, with other controls allowing staff to separately alter speaker volume in four different areas of the bar for the right balance.

Beyond the sound quality of this speaker system, installed at no extra charge by Hire Jukebox, Callaghan’s management have also been impressed by the extra services the digital jukebox provides. In particular, the bar has used the machine’s Sporting Events mode to advertise upcoming events on the machine’s sleek touch screen display, including live sports coverage.
