Online Is The Only Place For Your Jukebox To Be!
At Hire Jukebox all of our jukeboxes have an online connection. The reason for this is that we passionately believe this enables us to offer a better service to our customers. It allows us to provide music updates more promptly and to deal with software issues immediately, avoiding unnecessary jukebox downtime. Importantly, it also helps our jukeboxes make more money by ensuring that they always have the latest tracks that customers want to listen to.
There have been several occasions where our online connected jukeboxes have saved the day – well perhaps the evening! This was definitely the case in The Lion pub at Kenilworth on New Years Eve. We had a frantic phone call from the manager, Tom, who had just found out that the DJ they had booked had let them down. Obviously this is one of the biggest nights of the year, which they had promoted heavily and there was little chance they would find another DJ at such short notice. Tom asked us what, if anything, we could do to help. Within seconds, our engineer was able to long into our online operating system and set the jukebox to free play for the evening.
It was a massive success. The added bonus was that they saved £400, which was the cost of the DJ and gained the extra space the DJ had reserved for his kit. Tom called back the next day to personally thank us for what he described as one of the most memorable nights of the history of The Lion.
He said, “It was fantastic, everyone got to choose the music they wanted therefore it kept everyone entertained, so moving on, they stayed on until the New Year. For many it was like going down memory lane, they used the date search feature and ended up playing their favourite songs from throughout their lives!”
When landlord Paul Hopkins from The Stag in London called to report an issue with the touchscreen display on his jukebox he was sure it would be resolved but he didn’t expect how soon. Thanks to his jukebox’s online connection, we were able to enable the “Calibration Mode” for Paul to access immediately. Through the guidance of our engineer we were able to talk Paul through the process of getting his issue resolved.
Paul said, “To be honest, I was very impressed. We are a busy venue so even a few hours of waiting for a jukebox engineer could have lost us £30 during a busy period.”
Music Content is hugely important to the success of a jukebox on site but working out what kind of music works in what venue can take a little time. We can upload any music on the jukebox on request. Simply tell us what additional music you want added to the jukebox and we can have the music automatically uploaded to the “Venue Favourites” section on your jukebox. This free service also includes local bands and artists.
Manager Mike Oliver from Potters Retreat in Stoke on Trent called Hire Jukebox late one Friday evening at around 10pm. Though we had discussed the background music genres and timers on installation we also advised that this could be changed at anytime.
As it was the first week with the jukebox they didn’t know exactly what they wanted, so we set the background music to play a mixture of popular music from 1960s to present day but nothing too upbeat. Mike called and raised the question “Is it possible to up the tempo with more dance and chart music but only after 9pm on Friday and Saturday? Within minutes the engineer was able to resolve this from his mobile phone.
Mike said, “I heard that Hire Jukebox were good on service, but I didn’t expect that. I couldn’t believe it when the engineer told me it would be done in the next few minutes. That’s technology for you!”
Customers in a pub expect to find the same music choice from their jukebox as they would be able to access from their mobile, laptop or tablet device. We have a range of online connected jukeboxes to cater for all types of pub or club – no matter how demanding. Our top of the range VHub jukebox has access to over 7 million tracks via its online connection – more than any other jukebox.
We know that chart music is the most-played on our jukeboxes (over 80% of tracks played) and that is why twice a week new music is uploaded automatically to our digital jukeboxes, including the very latest chart releases and new album titles. New music updates are really important as they help to maintain customer interest and increase cashbox levels.
